The FA 4 Corner Model suggests that player development needs to be looked at from a technical, physical, psychological and social point of view – and that no corner works in isolation from the others
Pete Sturgess, FA Technical Lead for players aged 5-11, discusses the importance of coaching across the 4 corner model
The model can be applied to all players, regardless of age or ability. Everyone is different and players will have their own individual needs at any point in their development
Through clever practice design and the use of individual challenges, all of the players in your group should be able to take part in all of your session activities
Applying the STEP principle is a great way to do this. Think about how you can tweak the Space, Task, Equipment or Players to make the practice easier or harder, ensuring the group are engaged and motivated
